Since the Murphy bed — a lineage
Begun with an invention.
Perfected in Miami.
Joseph Alter, carpenter-inventor of the Murphy bed, set the family standard in Uruguay and Argentina. His son Herman raised a South Beach carpentry shop into a full design-build firm across four decades. His grandson David took his Florida General Contractor license at nineteen.
Today that lineage is thirty-plus architects, designers, project managers, and master carpenters — one team, one contract, one inherited standard.
